This Wednesday, October 19, 2022, President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo met with His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom at Buckingham Palace in London.

During this meeting, His Majesty King Charles III and President Tshisekedi discussed the importance of the role played by Africa, and the DRC in particular, in helping save the planet and humanity from the effects of global warming.

King Charles III of the United Kingdom pledged to support President Tshisekedi’s leadership in his efforts to preserve the forests of the Congo Basin, known as the world’s second lung.

The Head of State welcomed this support and reiterated the country’s commitment to fulfilling its critical role in addressing the consequences of climate change.

President Tshisekedi called on His Majesty King Charles III to use his authority within the Commonwealth, and with Rwanda in particular, to end destabilization in the eastern DRC and to promote peace, security and stability in the Great Lakes region of Africa.
