Section 3 covers 27 km of the Cross Rivers-Akwa Ibom axis, while section 4 covers 80 km, mainly in Akwa Ibom State.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nThe first 2 sections run respectively from Lagos to the deep-water port of Lekki (47.4 km) and from the port of Lekki to the new Dangote refinery. The project, budgeted at nearly 15,000 billion naira (USD 9.8 billion), should eventually create the country’s largest motorway, a network of some 700 km that will connect the states of Ogun, Ondo, Delta and Bayelsa as well as the above-mentioned states.\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \nThe infrastructure is part of the national transport plan, which provides for massive investment in the construction and renovation of a number of roads throughout the country.
